Keep The Home Fires Burning

So, does it surprise you that it is November already? It surprises us a bit. We have so enjoyed hearing from and working with thousands of homeowners this year that made decisions to make long-term investments in their homes with beautiful, worry-free, energy-efficient roofing systems. Given how roofing costs increase year after year, these homeowners are looking forward to no longer being in the cycle of buying a new roof every 15 – 20 years. Fact is, our homes are important to us. And, as we approach the winter months, our homes take on even more meaning, as we will be spending more time inside enjoying the comforts we have created within. There was a song that was popular during World War I titled “Keep The Home Fires Burning.” It referred to the importance of home. It was a reminder to those with family members fighting overseas of maintaining their homes as a bright place of warmth and cheer so that their loves ones would look forward to returning to it. Here are some of the lyric

Hail Damage and Your Roof

Was your neighborhood recently hit by a storm that included hail? If it was, your roof may have hail damage…and chances are you will soon have many roofing contractors knocking on your door. Local Roofing Professionals vs. Calculating Roofing Contractors Chasing hailstorms is big business. There is huge electronic infrastructure set up that facilitates contractors being able to locate storms, gauge their magnitude, determine the affected neighborhoods, know the size and value of the homes, work with insurance companies, and even bid the roofs sight unseen if they want to! We are pretty wary of these “storm chasers” and encourage the use of local, experienced contractors who are properly licensed and insured to work in your area. We encourage using contractors who will still “be there” if problems occur down the road and your roof requires service. Hail? Metal Roofing Comes to Your Home’s Defense Our aluminum roofs, as well as other metal roofs, have been used extensively in severe hail

When Is Metal Worth The Investment?

The benefits of metal roofing have gotten a lot of press in recent years. But everyone knows, too, that a metal roof is a higher investment than the old technology asphalt and fiberglass shingles. So, how can you tell if the extra investment of a metal roof is right for you? Let’s take a look at a few key considerations. How long do you plan to stay in your home? For homeowners who intend to stay in their home through at least one “re-roofing cycle,” a metal roof makes good financial sense. In most areas, a re-roofing cycle is from 12 – 20 years. Roofing prices, regardless of the product, tend to double every 10 – 15 years. When you work through the numbers, if you intend to stay in your home long-term you will likely see a real financial benefit to a metal roof. . Do you plan to gift or sell your home to a friend or relative in the future? Increasingly, homeowners are making plans to gift or sell their home to a friend or relative. In that case, a worry-free metal roof can be a nice “

Why Are Metal Roofs Increasing In Popularity?

Metal roofing is documented to be increasing rapidly in popularity for its use on homes. So, why are more and more homeowners choosing metal roofs? The reasons may surprise you. Here are a few reasons based on our experiences working with thousands of homeowners from across North America. First of all, we see folks of all ages and demographics buying metal roofs. We see: People in their 20s and their 80s are buying metal roofs. People with $100,000 homes and multi-million dollar homes. People with all levels of education, all types of professions, and from all geographic areas – are all turning to metal to end their roofing problems.
